Recognizing Dr. Lawrence F. Kasperbauer as a recipient of the University of Guam Endowment Foundation and School of Education’s Lifetime Achievement Award; and commending him for his public service and contributions in the field of education.

Congratulating the newly-elected Officers and Board of Governors of the Filipino-American Presidents Club of Guam (FAPCG) on the occasion of their induction; and commending the outgoing FAPCG Officers and Board of Governors and the club’s members for their tremendous humanitarian services and contributions to our island and the people of Guam.

Relative to recognizing the members of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Our Lady of Camarin Court No. 2047, on the Forty-eighth (48th) Year anniversary of their founding charter; and commending the members for their invaluable services and sacrifices to the community.

Resolution 290-35 (LS)
Recognizing the president, students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administration of the University of Guam (UOG) on the celebration of the fifth-second (52nd) year anniversary of its Charter, and the sixty-eighth (68th) year anniversary of its founding; and commending the 2020 UOG Charter Day Committee for their continued efforts to invest in and strengthen the institution for the benefit of our people, our island, the region, and the world.

Recognizing the late Dr. Jose Quinene Cruz for his commitment to improving our island community’s education needs; and expressing condolences to his family on his passing, on behalf of the people of Guam.

Relative to recognizing the observance of the twenty-fifth (25th) year anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service celebration; and commending the Serve Guam Commission, and the various groups and individuals, for their continued commitment and dedication in advocating for community service and youth involvement within our schools and our island communities.

Relative to recognizing the Korean Bowling Association of Guam for their community service throughout the island; and commending them for their support and contributions to the island of Guam.

Relative to recognizing the University of Guam (UOG) Professional Master of Business Administration (PMBA) candidates of Fanuchånan 2019 for their contributions; and congratulating them on the completion of their Master’s Program at the UOG School of Business and Public Administration.
Recognizing the Fanuchånan 2019 graduating candidates of the University of Guam School of Business and Public Administration Master of Public Administration Homeland Security Cohort for their efforts in increasing awareness of the need for emergency management certification in the region; and commending them for their work and contributions to emergency management professionals.

Relative to recognizing the International Women's Club of Guam for its social, cultural, and charitable contribitions to the island community; and commending the current IWCG President Ina Lee for her support and efforts to the organization.

Congratulating Justine Xu for representing Guam at the Winners Concert as First Prize winner of Golden Classical Music Awards New York International Competition at Carnegie Hall in November 2019 and to further extend an Un Dångkolo Na Si Yu′os Ma′åse′ to her for proudly representing our island and best wishes for continued success in her future endeavors.

Seeking to modernize the University of Guam and update the UOG charter. The bill provides the institution with greater financial independence while strengthening its mission toward island sustainability.
